Do now: take out your poetry terms flashcards OR open up your poetry terms literary log

Objectives:

  • demonstrate mastery of poetry terms by creating quiz questions
  • use technology to research a poet
  • work effectively in pairs
Agenda:

2. Poetry Terms Review AND extra credit (15 minutes):
  • create FIVE multiple choice questions
  • questions need to be a combination of definition matching and identifying terms from a poem
3.  Research project: continue to read and annotate the FIVE poems you found for your poet.  By the end of class each person should annotate TWO poems.
4. Summarizer

HW: Poetry Terms Quiz on FRIDAY.  Please remember to bring your ORB to class on FRIDAY.

DO NOW: Where was your poet born?  When?


Objectives:
  • use technology to research the life of a poet
  • annotate and cite correctly


Agenda:
  1. do now
  2. Read your biography-- HIGHLIGHT important pieces of information that you think will be good to include in your poetry presentation
  3. If working independently: locate a SECOND biography- copy/paste it into your google drive, read and highlight
  4. If working in pairs: research your poet’s poetry.  Find FIVE POEMS and copy and paste them into your google doc (include URL addresses!). Read/annotate ALL FIVE-- include a summary sentence.
  5. Summarizer

HW: Annotate at least ONE poem each for WEDNESDAY
